The afternoon sun reflects off the ostionera stone as the air fills with the rhythmic clicking of castanets and the rustle of starched fabrics. The senses awaken to a display of antique fabrics and elegant movements that rescue the living memory of our land. It is a journey to our roots. On this stage, the Asociación de Danzas Folclóricas Ciudad de Cádiz showcases its mastery, continuing the preservation work they passionately began in 1993.
Each turn tells a different story. From the playfulness of the tanguillos de Cádiz to the cadence of romeras, the repertoire flows through sevillanas, sevillanas boleras, fandangos, and luminous alegrías. Traditional dances intertwine with the technique of the Escuela Bolera and the rhythm of flamenco in an effort to share the intangible heritage that beats in every corner of the province. This performance invites spectators to marvel at the diversity of its origins, recognizing in every zapateado and traditional costume the essence of a Cadiz identity that continues to vibrate strongly.
