Autos de Navidad are anonymous texts that form part of the oldest repertoire of La Tía Norica. Originally, there were twenty-two scenes separated by distinct performance cycles, which coincided with the feast days of the Saints' calendar, from December 8 to February 2, coinciding with the so-called Feria del Frío.
Currently, the most significant scenes have been selected from the total. The stage dramaturgy is based on traditional texts with the inclusion of “morcillas” (stage ad-libs) or improvisations, resulting in a family show that demonstrates how short the path is for theatre to become a popular tradition.
