The Autos de Navidad are anonymous texts that form part of the oldest repertoire of La Tía Norica. Originally, there were twenty-two scenes, separated into distinct performance cycles that coincided with saint days, from December 8th to February 2nd, coinciding with the so-called Feria del Frío.
Currently, the most significant scenes have been selected from the total set. The stage dramaturgy is based on traditional texts with the addition of "morcillas" (stage ad-libs) or improvisations, resulting in a family show that demonstrates just how short the path is for theater to become a popular event.
