The Gadir Archaeological Site houses the remains of a 9th-century BC Phoenician settlement, considered one of the oldest urban centers in the West.

Visitor information

  • Location: Calle San Miguel, 15, under the Teatro del Títere "La Tía Norica".
  • Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, from 11:00 to 18:00. Closed on Mondays.
  • Price: Free admission.

Access regulations

  • Tickets can only be obtained on the day of the visit at the archaeological site itself, starting at 09:30. Advance bookings for later dates are not available.
  • The tour includes a 12-minute audiovisual presentation and a walk along a glass walkway.
  • Maximum capacity per tour is 25 people to ensure the preservation of the site.
  • Tours run every hour and are offered in Spanish with English subtitles.
  • Schedules are subject to change or cancellation depending on the cultural programming of the Teatro del Títere "La Tía Norica". It is recommended to confirm availability by calling 956 24 10 01 before visiting.

Site contents The site displays the Phoenician urban layout, including eight houses and clay-paved streets. It also preserves the remains of a Roman fish-salting factory. The main exhibition details daily life in the settlement and features Mattan, a Phoenician inhabitant from the 6th century BC.
