What happens when we try to freeze female identity under the glass of a display case? This is the question lingering over Sala Rivadavia, which kicks off its 2026 exhibition calendar with a proposal full of irony and social questioning. Until April 11, the public in Cádiz has the opportunity to immerse themselves in El pabellón de hielo, the new series by Argentine creator Paula Vincenti.

The exhibition, the result of close collaboration between the Fundación Provincial de Cultura de la Diputación and the Consulado de la República Argentina, occupies the space that both institutions share on calle Presidente Rivadavia. Coinciding with the commemoration of March 8, Vanesa Beltrán, Deputy for Culture, highlighted the activist nature of this selection, which focuses on the objectification of women in the media, advertising, and fashion spheres.

Vincenti's perspective is incisive: in her pieces, the female figure appears integrated into domestic interiors or magazine scenes, placed on equal footing with a piece of furniture or a simple decorative ornament. As the Argentine consul, Sergio Servin, points out, what at first glance seems like a clean and innocent aesthetic is in reality a critical mirror reflecting the consumption models and gender structures imposed on us by the media.

The artist herself, born in Buenos Aires in 1969 and based in Marbella, describes her creative process as an investigation into fragility. "I work with the constant pressure to fit into unstable molds," confesses the artist. Her 17 works—an amalgam that includes acrylics on canvas, mixed media on paper, and a methacrylate piece—function as visual puzzles. Far from closing the debate, Vincenti prefers the viewer to complete it, using a visual language inherited from advertising posters to generate a necessary discomfort. The title of the exhibition is no coincidence: it refers to that desire to perpetuate a beauty or youth that, like a block of ice, is always one step away from melting or fracturing.

Paula Vincenti's career is no stranger to the international circuit. Having exhibited from Beijing to New York, and with a presence in prestigious collections such as CAC Málaga, Fundación Unicaja, or Colección Benetton, the artist reaffirms in Cádiz her ability to dissect the tensions of our time. An unmissable event for those seeking a critical reflection of our reality in art.
