Can you imagine walking by the sea while time turns back before your eyes? That is exactly what awaits you in this photographic exhibition installed under the open sky of our city. Through 30 extraordinary large-format pieces, the promenade becomes an open window to the evolution of our pier, graphically telling the story of how the waterfront of Cádiz changed from the mid-19th century to the final years of the 20th.
Each snapshot in this visual itinerary comes from the legacy of Rafael Garófano, a documentary treasure now held by the Archivo Histórico Provincial de Cádiz following its donation to the Junta de Andalucía. What you will see in large format is the result of meticulous restoration work: from digitized stereoscopic cards and period postcards to prints recovered from original glass plates. It is a unique opportunity to observe, right out on the street, the metamorphosis of our port architecture through the lens of those who photographed it decades ago.
