Andalucía leads unemployment reduction in Spain, with April marking a historic milestone

The Andalusian region celebrates a remarkable improvement in the labor market, consolidating its position as the region with the largest drop in unemployment in April. According to the latest data from the Ministerio de Trabajo y Economía Social, the number of unemployed people fell by 24,119, bringing the total figure to 619,103, the best record for this month in recent years.

Andalusian provinces leading the way
Three Andalusian provinces stand out nationally for their significant reduction in unemployment. Sevilla and Málaga head the list, closely followed by Cádiz, where unemployment fell by 4,756 people. The latter thus reaches an unprecedented figure since 2008, with 117,578 unemployed people, representing a 3.89% drop, outpacing the national average.

Widespread improvement across all sectors
The decline in unemployment positively impacted all economic sectors, being particularly notable in the services sector, with 3,462 fewer people on the unemployment lists. Construction, agriculture, and industry also experienced drops, with 289, 193, and 98 fewer unemployed people, respectively. In addition, the group without prior employment decreased by 714 people.

This progress consolidates a positive trend, making it three consecutive months of falling unemployment in the region. The combination of the Semana Santa season and April's economic dynamics has driven this optimistic labor outlook in Andalucía.
