Cádiz local government carries out the recent reduction in water supply pressure.

Since 18 December, an additional reduction in water pressure at household taps in Cádiz has been observed, as a result of the measures announced by the mayor at last Friday's Junta de Gobierno Local. These measures are part of a new set of provisions aimed at fighting the drought, as detailed in the Plan contra la Sequía del Ayuntamiento de Cádiz, which is monitored and evaluated weekly by the Comité de Seguimiento established for this purpose.

According to information provided by Bruno García, water pressure during daytime hours will be reduced to 3.5 kilos, compared to the 3.7 kilos that had been in place since 22 November, when the first measures of the municipal plan were implemented. Previously, the usual tap pressure in the city was 4 kilos. Furthermore, in this new series of provisions, pressure is also being reduced during nighttime hours, a measure that had not initially been applied. Therefore, pressure will decrease from 3 kilos to 2.8 kilos.

The Ayuntamiento de Cádiz will pay special attention to detecting potential issues with water heaters in homes located in the highest areas of the city, such as Torre Tavira, Bahía Blanca, or Barrio de Santa María. These measures, announced on Friday and taking effect at the beginning of the week, have been implemented this Monday.
