El Piojito street market will be affected by the closure of Puente Carranza.

Over the next four months, the closure of Puente Carranza will bring some adjustments to traffic patterns entering and exiting the city. Given the expected congestion on Puente de la Constitución de 1812, drivers are advised to prioritize using the CA33 connecting to San Fernando whenever possible.

Traffic changes will take place at several points, including the final stretch of avenida de la Bahía, which will be open only to access the exit towards Puerto Real, while the slip road connecting to the roundabout regulating traffic for the second bridge will be closed.

As a result, the street market will be suspended on the first two Mondays (March 18 and 25), as communicated to traders. The Ayuntamiento is considering various options, including temporary suspension or finding a new location.

Among the measures to improve traffic flow towards Cortadura, a traffic light will soon be installed at the intersection of trasversal de Varela with the avenue, allowing a left turn towards the exit of Cádiz.

In addition, drivers entering via Puente de la Constitución heading to the south of the city are advised to use avenida de las Cortes, rotonda de Bomberos and then avenida de la Sanidad Pública, as this route has synchronized traffic lights that optimize waiting times, unlike avenida de Huelva, which has more traffic lights.
