The Levante Wind Arrives in Cádiz to Close out the Year
The Levante wind has made its appearance in Cádiz city, marking the end of the year and the arrival of the New Year. According to the Agencia Estatal de Meteorología, a moderate presence of this wind is expected, with stronger gusts to be felt during the morning of Saturday, December 28, reaching up to 25 kilometers per hour.
As the day progresses, the wind intensity will moderate, settling at 10 kilometers per hour until January 1. During these days, the city of Cádiz will enjoy stable temperatures, with lows of 10ºC and highs of 17ºC, under mostly sunny conditions. However, on Sunday, clouds are expected to arrive, although with no chance of rain.
It is important to note that a yellow warning for coastal phenomena has been activated in the Estrecho for this Saturday, with winds that could reach up to 74 kilometers per hour. In these areas, Levante winds of 50 to 61 kilometers per hour (force 7) are anticipated, and occasionally 52 to 74 kilometers per hour (force 8) during the early morning hours, especially west of Tarifa and offshore in the Trafalgar area.
As for the forecast for the province, mostly clear skies are expected to predominate, although weak rainfall in the Estrecho area cannot be ruled out. Temperatures might experience a slight decrease or remain unchanged, while light to moderate Levante winds will be recorded in the Cádiz region, tending to be strong in the Estrecho.
