Erizada and Mejillonada on Sunday, February 4, 2024 – Carnavales de Cádiz

With the arrival of February, a series of gastronomic events is expected on the agenda of Cádiz locals. The key date is February 4, when the community will gather to enthusiastically celebrate the famous Erizada and Mejillonada Popular. The La Viña neighborhood eagerly awaits this special day, as numerous stalls will be set up in its lively streets, ready to satisfy palates with the characteristic sea urchin starting at 12:30. In a generous gesture, around 2,500 kilograms of sea urchins will be distributed free of charge during this festive event.

At the same time, in a different setting, Peña Flamenca La Perla de Cádiz will be the meeting point for the Mejillonada Popular, starting at 13:00. This event will not only delight the senses with delicious mussels, but will also feature carnival performances to liven up the day. All this will take place before the start of the first semi-final session of the prestigious Concurso Oficial de Agrupaciones Carnavalescas (COAC).
