Los Reyes Magos Bring Forward Their Arrival in Cádiz Due to Bad Weather
In light of weather forecasts indicating a 100% chance of rain and wind for next Sunday, January 5, Their Majesties from the East have decided to bring forward their arrival in the capital of Cádiz. In response to this situation, the Ayuntamiento de Cádiz has scheduled the traditional parade for Saturday, January 4. This decision was approved during an emergency Junta Local de Seguridad held this Thursday.
The parade route will start at 17:00 from avenida Cayetano del Toro, continuing along avenida Ana de Viya, avenida Andalucía and Cuesta de las Calesas, ending at Plaza de San Juan de Dios. Afterward, the Reyes Magos will head to the balcony of the Ayuntamiento at around 20:00.
To ensure accessibility, the Ayuntamiento de Cádiz has set up a reserved area for people with reduced mobility along the route, specifically on avenida Andalucía, near calle José Manuel Pascual y Pascual.
The parade will feature a total of nine floats, each 12 meters long, inspired by popular children's movies. In addition to the Reyes Magos Melchor, Gaspar, and Baltasar, attendees will be able to enjoy the Estrella de Oriente and the Cartero Real, as well as themed floats from El Grinch de Navidad, Frozen, La Bella y la Bestia, and los Pitufos en Navidad. During the event, 20,000 kilograms of gluten-free candy will be distributed.
Due to the parade being brought forward, the Delegación de Fiestas had to reduce the number of entertainment acts, as some hired groups will not be available on the new date. In addition, that same morning, the Reyes Magos will visit several locations across the city, including Residencia San Juan de Dios (at approximately 8:15), Residencia Fragela (around 9:00), Fundación Cajasol and Fundación Martínez de Pinillos (starting at 10:30), Hospital Puerta del Mar (around 12:10), and the Comandancia de la Guardia Civil (at approximately 13:55).
