More than 1.5 million Andalucians vaccinated against flu in the 2024-2025 campaign

The flu vaccination campaign in Andalucía has started with great success, reaching a total of 1,517,016 vaccinated Andalucians to date. This initiative, which began on September 30 with the immunization of children between six and 59 months old, has continued since October 9, progressively opening vaccination to different risk groups.

Progress in the immunization of the target population

According to the Consejería de Salud y Consumo, Andalucía has achieved 41.9% coverage in the target population. In the province of Cádiz, vaccines have been administered to 189,267 people.

Vaccination by age group

Regarding children aged six to 59 months, a total of 149,221 have received the vaccine, representing 54.7% of the total. This percentage rises to 62.9% for children aged three and four years, who have had the opportunity to get vaccinated at their schools.

Regarding people over 60 years old, more than one million people, specifically 1,003,293, have been vaccinated, which equals a coverage of 47%. In the group of people over 80 years old, 291,755 people have been immunized, reaching a coverage of 67.3%.

Vaccination in nursing homes

In nursing homes, coverage has been remarkable, reaching 88.3% with the administration of 35,295 doses of the flu vaccine and 32,281 doses against Covid, achieving 80.8% coverage in this sector.

Walk-in vaccination points

The Consejería de Salud, through the Dirección General de Salud Pública y Ordenación Farmacéutica and the Servicio Andaluz de Salud (SAS), continues to offer walk-in vaccination every Wednesday at hundreds of designated points across Andalucía.

To facilitate access, the SAS has published a list of vaccination centers, specifying the municipality, the vaccination point, and the available hours. At these points, flu and/or Covid vaccines will be administered to people who have not yet been vaccinated and who belong to the campaign's target groups.
